Patriotic Hatred

I have noticed more and more email coming into my inbox lately that’s … well … hateful.  The most disturbing part of this is that these emails are using “Patriotism” as the context for that hatred …..

……. Seriously?  Stop it right now!  

No .. I mean it.  I am about, if not more patriotic than the next guy .. so much so that I am planning on going back into the military this year because I believe so much in this country and anything I can do to help protect her .. I will do it, but I don’t use my patriotism to stand on a pedestal and condemn and threaten other groups.

This is appalling and if you are reading this, and are guilty of crafting, or even forwarding these hateful emails?  You really need to stop it …. at the very least, please take me off your email list …

We are at war.  We are at war with a ruthless enemy who wants nothing more than to destroy our society and way of life, and to thrust us back into the 13th century … and we NEED to stop them.  What we don’t need is people more than willing to click their forward button before they really grasp the ramifications of their hateful actions …

In doing so, you’re proving that your God is just as hateful as theirs ……

…………. Well,  mine isn’t so please don’t infect my inbox with your odium!
